Buying Process

How’s it work?

The first step is finding and purchasing your new gun from a vendor online or private party in another state.  Next the paperwork has to be completed.

What paperwork is required,  how long does it take, and what does it cost?

Title II guns transfer on several different ATF forms.  The first is a a Form 3.  This is used to transfer guns tax free from one dealer to another.  These usually take ATF 1-4 weeks to process.  In most cases, the Form 3 is what gets your gun to Aggie Arms.   After Aggie Arms receives the Form 3, we will sit down with you and complete the ATF Form 4.  The Form 4 is the Application for Tax Paid Transfer and Registration of a Firearm.  This takes less than 5 minutes to complete.  Don’t let other dealers try to charge you an expensive fee to complete this paperwork.  It should be free!

Once the sale is arranged, contact Aggie Arms, and we will email you a copy of our FFL (Federal Firearms License) to forward to the seller.  In the case of a private party sale, we ask for the seller’s contact information as well.  After the seller has been paid, they will mail your new gun to us.  When the gun arrives, we’ll email or call to let you know it’s arrived and schedule a time for pickup.

What happens next?

When you arrive to pickup the gun, please bring a current, non-expired, government photo ID.  We’ll complete then complete the necessary  paperwork and perform the instant FBI background check.  If you have a valid Texas Concealed Handgun License (CHL), no background check is required!
